Huntwood English Setters
27 Years of Breeding Champion Lines
My husband Steve and I live in Minocqua, Wisconsin with our five English Setters. I am an active member of the Western English Setter Club of Chicago, the Kettle Moraine English Setter Club of Milwaukee, and serve on the board of the English Setter Association of America.
I began my love affair with the breed in 1993 after acquiring my first english setter from Peg Ziebart. Her name was Chiquita, A/C BIS BISS CH. Trabeiz Premonition Of A Dream, JH and she took me on an incredible journey. In addition to her Best In Show win and multiple Specialty wins, in 1999 she was shown by Eileen Hackett and won Best of Breed at the English Setter Association of America National Specialty. Throughout this time, I met many wonderful people who served as mentors and guided me along the way. With their help, I have cultivated my skills in the ring, in the field, and as a breeder. |
ConformationConformation Shows, which are sanctioned by the American Kennel Club, are designed to help maintain the standards and appearance of a specific breed. Judges evaluate each dog based on their physical appearance, movement and disposition. Purchasing an english setter puppy from a Breeder of Merit with "Champion" dog lines is your best assurance of obtaining a healthy pet with a great personality.

HuntingEvery dog is born to excel at something. English Setters were specifically bred to hunt game birds and most setters naturally excel in field work. This is their passion and if you open the door to this opportunity, you will be rewarded with a healthier and more energetic dog. Titles can be earned for various levels of achievement.
